Mr. Bawaney possesses over 57 years of experience in corporate, banking, investment, joint venture, project licensing, property, commercial, foreign exchange, mutual funds, patent & trademarks, insurance, project finance, capital markets, pharmaceutical as well as other laws, rules and regulations. He has advised and is a regular corporate and banking counsel to a number of corporate brokerage houses, banks, financial institutions and mutual funds.
Mr. Bawaney was instrumental in introduction of corporate culture in the securities market of Pakistan by providing legal assistance to the erstwhile Karachi Stock Exchange (now Pakistan Stock Exchange) in introducing corporate broker memberships and conversion of some prestigious broker firms into listed companies and their public flotation. Additionally, he has also been involved in some prestigious projects, such as the formation of the Central Depository Company of Pakistan, constitution of first private sector mutual fund under the asset management framework, establishment of the first money changer in Pakistan and its subsequent conversion into an exchange company, mergers of companies, sub-division of companies into independent entities, mergers of AMCs, mergers of open end schemes, including voluntary conversion of closed-end funds into open-end schemes, spinning off brokerage segments of investment houses into independent listed brokerage companies, conversion of an insurance company into an investment house, advisory services on the proposed formation of the first private sector electronic exchange in Pakistan and successfully accomplishing takeovers and mergers of commercial banks, microfinance banks and NBFCs. Mr. Bawaney with the assistance of the senior associate has also conducted legal due diligence of companies, offered for sale/privatization and preparation of legal due diligence reports, including commercial banks, SME bank, insurance company, leasing company, prestigious consumer product companies, jewellery export manufacturing company in EPZ, etc.
Mr. Bawaney also has litigation experience stretching over five decades, including over 43 years professional standing at the Supreme Court of Pakistan, and is respected amongst the legal fraternity.

The next generation of the Bawaney family, Salman Iqbal Bawaney specializes and is involved with the Firm’s corporate and financial advisory services division. He brings about a unique set of expertise vide a combination of legal and financial knowledge and experience.
He has acted in domestic and cross-border transactions for a range of clients, including institutional investors, public companies, privately held businesses and high-net-worth individuals. He has particular expertise in the financial services, private equity, corporate finance, project finance, syndications, IT agreements, power projects, TFC floatation, joint ventures and foreign collaboration. Additionally, he has extensively covered the areas of Islamic finance, Asset Backed Securitisation and Corporate Governance, and and actively renders services to clients on foreign arbitration and mediation.
He routinely advises clients on competition matters and other regulatory issues related to State Bank of Pakistan and the Pakistan Stock Exchange in addition to appearing before the bench at the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan. Additionally, he also served as the specialist legal advisor on the Investigation Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, providing guidance and advisory on matters pertaining to professional misconduct.
Prior to joining the legal profession, taking advantage of his finance degrees, Salman Iqbal Bawaney has worked at KPMG Pakistan in their risk advisory services division, advising major commercial banks on the implementation of BASEL II accord. Subsequently, he has worked as an investment banker at a major local bank immediately. As an investment banker, he successfully closed many syndicated arrangements, project finance and power related transactions. Salman Bawaney’s technical and practical knowledge of finance and law results in better understanding of the various spheres and technicalities involved in complex deal structures, resulting in focused and practical solutions and advice.

Samina Fazal has an experience over fifteen years in legal matters, as an Advocate of High Court, including documentation, registration and litigation. She is instrumental in preparation of documents and contracts, legal research, legal due diligence of companies units offered for sale/privatization and preparation of legal due diligence reports, High Court and Sub-Ordinate Court litigation, including family matters and criminal matters. She has been associated with the Firm for twenty-eight years.

Mr. Siddiqi is involved in the firm's corporate advisory and transactions division. His primary area of expertise includes Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Banking, Insurance, Finance, Competition Law, Securities Law, TFC Issuance and Restructuring, and Group Restructuring and Reorganization.
His scope of work includes the drafting, vetting and negotiation of various legal documents such as shareholders agreements, share purchase agreements, financing agreements, service level agreements, licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, among others. He also routinely renders intricate legal opinions on matters concerning company law, securities law, contract law, banking and finance law, foreign exchange law, and competition law.
In addition to advisory and transactional matters, he also routinely represents clients before the Banking Courts of Karachi. He has been associated with the Firm for four years.

Mr. Javed is a litigations lawyer and handles banking, civil and criminal litigations of all kinds and at various levels. He also handles registration of documents with the Sub-Registrar and is responsible for matters which involve representations before government offices. He has a professional standing of more than thirty years and has been associated with the Firm for almost fifteen years.
